The Eye of Zora: An Art Workshop with Malik Seneferu

An Amazing opportunity for teens to work with Bay Area artist Malik Seneferu and create mixed-media art work that will be displayed along side Malik's own painting at the San Leandro Public Library. Students in grades 6 to 12 will learn various art techniques while exploring the creative process and getting an introduction to the life and work of famed African-American writer Zora Neale Hurston.


This workshop runs for four consecutive Saturday afternoons beginning at 2 pm on January 19. $20 materials fee. Regustration is required. See the flyer for more information.


This program is part of the Big Read, a program of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest. The San Leandro Public Library has selected Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston as our community-wide read for 2013.
