Police Confirm BART Shooting Victim Was Fremont Resident Kenneth Seets

BART officials confirmed Wednesday that the man shot and killed at the Bayfair BART station in San Leandro on Saturday afternoon was 50-year-old Fremont resident Kenneth Lee Seets. Family members posted on Patch Monday that Kenneth Lee Seets was fatally shot in the bus-loading zone of the BART station at about 12:20 p.m. A second victim was wounded by gunfire and taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries that were not life-threatening. Seets, 50, who may have been killed by gunfire intended for someone else, was described by commenters on Patch as "very loving" and the "last person one would think this could happen to."

San Leandro Chamber Celebrates New Leadership

Business and civic leaders filled the San Leandro Senior Center as the Chamber of Commerce installed its new officers Thursday night. The event was a sellout according to Chamber President Dave Johnson with 175 guests on hand for the $75 per seat event. See a list of the Chamber’s lineup for 2013 here.
