Sun Stages Return to East Bay

Summer weather on the way this week.

After an unseasonably weekend absence, the sun is getting ready to return to the East Bay.

The National Weather Service forecasts a 30 percent chance of showers for today with partly cloudy skies tonight.

Then, dry weather is expected to return.

National Weather meterologists say we'll have partly sunny skies on Tuesday with high temperatures just over 70 degrees.

The blue skies will be a welcome sight after a weekend of unusually wet weather for early June.

From 11 a.m. Saturday to 11 a.m. Sunday, the NWS reported .71 inches of rain fell on Mount Diablo.

The service's automatic gauges also recorded .39 inches in the Dublin/San Ramon area.

Livermore airport recorded .25 inches while Castro Valley saw .16 inches.

The Oakland Airport gauge reported .10 inches.
