How Many Foreclosure Homes Are In San Leandro?

The number of foreclosure homes in San Leandro is down 72 percent over last year, and they're selling for an average of $67,000 less than non-foreclosure houses.

That's according to a report released Thursday from Realty Trac, which shows 253 homes in some sort of foreclosure in San Leandro with 26 of those houses for sale.

The median sale price for foreclosure homes was $305,000 in April. That was 6 percent higher than April 2012.

The median sale price for non-foreclosure houses was $372,000, up 4 percent from a year before.

In May, the number of properties that have received a foreclosure filing in San Leandro was up 7 percent from April and down 72 percent from May 2012.

Overall, homes sales in San Leandro in April were up 8 percent from the previous month and steady from the year before.

The figures were part of a national report released by Realty Trac that showed there are 712,000 foreclosure homes in the United States. Of those, 167,000 have been vacated by their owners.
