FREE SCREENING OF DOCUMENTARY "RACE TO NOWHERE"

Where/When: Castro Valley Center for the Arts; Wednesday, March 9 at 7 p.m.

Why Go: The first screening had an overwhelming demand for tickets so this is your family's second chance to see this documentary, which is a call to mobilize families, educators, and policy makers to challenge current assumptions on how to best prepare the youth of America.

Where/When: San Leandro Main Library; Friday, March 11 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Why Go: Take your family to learn this fascinating game of Chinese origin, and meet some other families around the area!

Where/When: Sulphur Creek Nature Center in Hayward; Saturday, March 12 from 9:30 a.m to 12:30 p.m.

Why Go: This program allows ages 12-18 years of age to learn about the mysteries of animal adaptations and create their own animal mask.

Pricing: $20 per person

CITY OF  DUBLIN 2011 ST. PATRICK'S DAY CELEBRATION

Where/When: Dublin Civic Center; Saturday and Sunday, March 12 and 13 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Why Go: You and your family can enjoy Irish drink and food, shop for authentic Irish wares and crafts, learn the Irish jig or how to play a pennywhistle, kiss the Blarney Stone, and more!
