EAST BAY CAMBODIAN NEW YEAR FESTIVAL
Where/When: Cesar Chavez Educational Center in Oakland; Saturday, April 2, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Why Go: Free food, karaoke, traditional dancing, a fashion show, games, and plenty of kid-friendly activities.

Where/When: Alameda County Fairgrounds; Saturday and Sunday, April 2 and 3, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Why Go: Do your kids love cats? This show features over 200 cats and kittens, plus loving cats up for adoption, arts, crafts and gifts.

Why Go: Celebrate the start of the spring sailing season at Cal Sailing's first Open House of the year, where members of the public are welcome to sign up at the clubhouse to go out on the bay and learn how to sail. Children must be 5 or over and accompanied by a parent or guardian.
