(San Leandro, Ca) City Council District 4 Candidate Chris Crow announced today his endorsement by the Alameda County Gays & Lesbians Organized for Betterment & Equality (GLOBE) political action committee. GLOBE works for the election of public officials at all levels of government who support the civil and social rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people.
Crow has also been endorsed by Bob Whitehead, the president of Lighthouse Community Center in Hayward. Lighthouse provides a safe and substance-free meeting place with social, informational and community awareness programs for the entire LGBTQ community and allies regardless of age, race, or religion.
"I'm very honored to have received the endorsements of GLOBE and Bob Whitehead for my City Council campaign" said Crow. "Embracing our diversity and building bridges between our different communities is key to the social and economic success of San Leandro's future. I look forward to working with LGBT organizations to make sure that the city protects the rights of LGBT individuals as much as those of all other members of our community."
Also endorsing Crow are Human Services Commissioner Nestor Cuellas and former Estudillo Estates Home Owners Association President and current Personnel Relations Board member Johanne Dictor. Dictor described her reasons for endorsing Crow:
“I admire Chris for being a very energetic and “can do” kind of person. He cares about San Leandro and the economics of the city. He is not afraid of debate and won’t back down. It is time for Chris Crow and his generation to bring new ideas for San Leandro. I hope you will join me and cast your vote for Chris in this election.”
