Central Labor, Mayor Cassidy and Elected Officials Endorse Chris Crow for City Council.

Momentum grows for grassroots campaign.

(San Leandro, CA) - Community advocate Chris Crow announced today his endorsement by the Alameda County Central Labor Council and San Leandro Mayor Stephen Cassidy. Crow has also been endorsed by the Alameda County Building & Trades Council, San Leandro City Council Member Pauline Cutter and School Board Members Mike Katz-Lacabe, Lance James and Vince Rosato.  The Oakland Tribune calls him "the best choice" for San Leandro District 4.

“I am proud to have such a diverse cross-section of the community supporting me” said Crow. “It’s time for everyone to come together, roll up our sleeves, and develop a comprehensive plan for moving this city forward. We need to improve our city services and assure a great quality of life for all San Leandrans, while pursuing responsible and equitable solutions for the City’s financial challenges.”

Crow’s plan includes raising revenue without further burdening working families and seniors by closing loopholes that allow big retailers to pay a disproportionally small amount of taxes and for-profit parking lots to remain untaxed. His funding priorities include saving San Leandro Hospital, increasing police staffing and restoring social services such as job skills training.

“I’m impressed by Chris Crow’s energy and enthusiasm for public service," said Mayor Cassidy. “He has studied the city budget and possesses a realistic understanding of our fiscal challenges. Chris is not afraid to stake out a position on the issues that he believes are in the best interests of the people of San Leandro. I look forward to working Chris to continue to improve San Leandro. “

For School Board trustee Mike Katz-Lacabe, Chris Crow’s strength lies in his commitment to the San Leandro community and his willingness to work hard for the betterment of others. “Chris is a great supporter of San Leandro students. He volunteers to coach students in sports and debate, he mentors kids and is on the Boards of the San Leandro Education and Sports Foundations. We need leaders whose actions match their rhetoric.”
