What Does Today's U.S. Jobs Report Mean For San Leandro?

Employers nationwide added 103,000 jobs in September. Economists debate whether that is a good or bad sign. What is your view of the local job market?

The federal government released its official report on the nation's job market in September. The U.S. unemployment rate held steady at 9.1 percent. Employers added 103,000 jobs.

What does that mean?

An analysis by the New York Times said the numbers were better than expected but too weak to help 14 million jobless Americans -- more than half of whom have been out of work for more than six months.
