Mix-It-Up With The San Leandro Chamber

A fun speed networking event on the first Wednesday of the month.

Are you an East Bay business person who would like to meet some new faces and pitch your product or service in a fun, friendly environment?

The San Leandro Chamber of Commerce sponsors a monthly event that offers you a chance to learn what other businesses are doing and have a good time.

You might call it "speed-dating" for businesses.

East Bay business people are invited to attend networking events on the first Wednesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at Willow Park Golf Course and Event Center in Castro Valley. (Phone ahead to confirm at  (510) 317-1400.)

Everyone who attends gets to give three short infomercials or elevator pitches about their business to the group.

Bring marketing materials and lots of business cards.

The San Leandro Chamber's 500-plus members are invited to the meetings. The event space holds up to 300 people, so be sure to make a reservation to assure a spot by joining the group and responding here.

These events are free to San Leandro Chamber of Commerce members and $10 for non-members at the door.  Enjoy "happy hour" prices on food and beverages.

According to the Mix Up Meet-Up group site, the big draw to networking mixers is the informercials where you get to tell other people about your business and hopefully get a lead or two.  You'll get three opportunities to present your busines to the group at each event.

Those attending will break into groups of 30 or less, three different times throughout the event. Everyone in a group gives their 30 second infomercial and then the room breaks up into loose networking.  This way you can follow up with those that caught your attention right away.

After 30 to 45 minutes  they then Mix-Up the groups and everyone gives another 30 second infomercial.  You’ll get to give a 30 second infomercial 3 times during the event and expose your business to up to 90 people at each event with new people each time.

And you think that plunking down a very low income housing project in the middle of cheap housing inRead More San Leandro is more like Castro Valley? or more like West/East Oakland. It's more like the latter. Can't wait for the drive-by shootings and muggings to ratchet up when we thrown away $9M in tax dollars on building a new downtown SL BART ghetto.

It is unfortunate the Bridge has been unable to stop all crime in Oakland. Sadly, that lesson willRead More probably apply to San Leandro too.

Leah, do you have the authorization from Disney for the use of the copyrighted Dumbo character youRead More use for your blog? I thought that the policy of Patch was to deny access to non-authorized materials such as this.
