Sprouts & Shutters: New Mexican Grocery & Bakery In North San Leandro

Panderia El Pueblo at 688 East 14th Street offers take out food, meats and fish, baked sweets, and select groceries and produce.

There's a new Mexican grocery store at the north end of San Leandro. Panderia El Pueblo at 688 East 14th Street offers:

  • take out food
  • meats and fish
  • cakes and sweets
  • select groceries, milk, eggs and chilled goods
  • a modest selection of produce

The store is on the east side of 14th and has a few unmetered parking spots out front. Inside it is clean and fresh. The pleasant scent of the bakery was my first impression and it was a good one.

I liked the butcher's section and there was a small selection of fish as well.

I didn't try the take out food but it seems like a good option for downtown visitors.
