San Leandro Business Leaders Will Gather Tonight

Annual Chamber of Commerce Installation Dinner is sold out as city bigwigs get together to start the new year.

 

If you haven't already reserved your seat at the Chamber of Commerce Installation Dinner I've got just one word for you: fuggedaboudit.

The event is sold out according to Chamber officials who are pleased at the outpouring of business, civic and political leaders who will witness the swearing in of the organization's new board.

Patch has been told that speechifying will be kept to a minimum to instead devote time to honoring and featuring local innovators.

These will include Tracy McSheery of Phasespace, the San Leandro firm that has made a name for itself in the world of movie special effects.

Representatives from Lit San Leandro will provide an update on the installation of the high-speed fiber optic loop that is the brainchild of OSIsoft founder Dr. Patrick Kennedy.

Major sponsors of the event include Madison Marquette, owner of Bayfair Mall; Kaiser Permanente, whose new San Leandro medical center is slated to open in 2014; and the Innesfree Companies, which must rethink its approach to the Village Marketplace project in light of the .

The event will be held from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm Thursday at the San Leandro Senior Center, 13909 East 14th Street.
