Power Outage Dims Some San Leandro Traffic Lights

About 1,324 downtown businesses and residences are affected by an outage first reported at 9:31 am. PG&E expects to have power back on by 12:30 pm.

 

A power outage hit downtown San Leandro at 9:31 am Tuesday morning and knocked out electricity to 1,324 businesses and residences, according to PG&E.

A utility spokesman said the cause of the interruption has yet to be determined but crews dispatched to the scene are expected to get power back online by 12:30 pm.

According to the utility the outage affects the area around Williams Street and Washington Avenue west to the Southern Pacific Railroad tracks.

One Patch reader said traffic lights were out on East 14th Street near Sybil Street.

Another Patch fan on Facebook said the electricity flickered but remained on at the Costco on Davis Street. However, the traffic lights on that busy throughfare were down, the Patch fan said.
