One-Day Nurses Walkout At San Leandro Hospital

Today's union action is aimed at Sutter Health which will stay open using temporary nurses.

 

Nurses will hold a one-day walkout at San Leandro Hospital today, the sixth in a series of similar walkouts over 18 months of rancorous negotiations with Sutter Health over a new contract.

  1. Alta Bates Summit Medical Center facilities in Berkeley and Oakland
  2. Eden Hospital in Castro Valley
  3. Sutter Delta in Antioch
  4. Sutter Solano in Vallejo 

About 3,200 RNs as well as several hundred respiratory, X-ray and other technicians will be involved according to the National Nurses Union.

As in the prior five such walkouts, Sutter will keep hospitals open with temporary replacements.
