To christen the store a priest from St. Joachims Catholic Church will say mass at 3 pm.

At 4 pm the doors will be thrown open to the public.

From 6 pm to 7:30 pm traditional Mexican dancers will perform.

El Portal will eventually serve beer and wine.

But Lopez said the California ABC Division in Oakland cancelled his application over a technicality and then lost his file.

Now he will have to restart the application process from scratch.

So for the next month or so be prepared to slake your thirst with soft drinks.
