Macy's Bayfair Completes Remodel

Macy's in Bayfair Center just completed a major renovation project including the addition of 6,000-square feet of space. The department store is hosting grand reopening festivities on Saturday, Nov. 9.

Macy’s Bayfair store in San Leandro has completed a renovation to provide a superior shopping experience for its customers with brand new departments, expanded assortments, and an additional 6,000 square feet of selling space.  

“We’re excited to elevate the shopping experience for our local customers here at Macy’s Bayfair,”   says Heather Ross, Vice President and Store Manager.  “We’ve completely remodeled the store to create a more modern shopping experience, with expanded departments that are popular with local customers.”

Highlights of the remodel include 6,000 additional square feet of selling space dedicated to Men’s merchandise, a brand new women’s Impulse department, and the addition of Finish Line merchandise for Men and Women.  New brands available at Macy’s Bayfair include Impulse brands Bar III, Miss Me Jeans, and Kensie; INC Jewelry; Ellen Tracy; Boys Polo; Jessica Simpson; Ralph Lauren dresses, Vince Camuto watches, and Intimate apparel from Wacoal and DKNY.  The floors will also be reconfigured to accommodate the additional merchandise. Other updates throughout the store include new seating, lighting and paint in dressing rooms and new mannequins throughout the departments.

The store will celebrate with grand reopening activities on Saturday, November 9th at the theater entrance to the store.  The first 500 customers through the theater entrance doors at store opening at 10 a.m. will receive a $10 Macy's Gift Card.  Plus, one lucky winner will get a $250 Macy's Shopping Spree!

Partnering with Macy’s on the grand opening celebration is the local Boys & Girls Clubs of San Leandro.  Customers who make a donation to the Boys & Girls Clubs will receive a 15 percent in-store savings pass, redeemable through Jan. 31, 2014.

Other events happening throughout the store on Saturday, Nov. 9 include:

  • All Day – Passport to Win – Want to go on an adventure? Pick up a “Passport” and visit each of our exciting departments where we will have fun surprises. Have your card stamped at each destination along the way for a chance to win a $250 Macy’s Gift Card.
  • 9:45 a.m. - Ribbon Cutting Ceremony with Mayor Stephen Cassidy and a performance from the San Leandro High School Jazz Ensemble
  • 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Bring the kids for fun activities in the Children’s Department, including face-painting and balloon twisting
  • 6 p.m. - Fashion show featuring local kids from the San Leandro Boys & Girls Clubs, San Leandro High School, and John Muir Middle School.
