Drake’s Brewing Company is holding a fundraiser on Saturday, July 23 for the San Leandro Education Foundation (SLED) to celebrate the grand opening of Drake’s Barrel House.
The San Leandro community has been a huge supporter of Drake’s. In return, Drake’s gives back to the community by holding events for local charities and organizations. On Saturday, Drake’s will donate $2 for every beer purchased at the Barrel House between 5-8pm to SLED, helping fund the organization’s technology efforts. The event is open to the public, and is a great way to help support your local school district. Doc's of the Bay food truck will serve food during the event.
Drake’s Barrel House is the brewery’s new on-site taproom and retail sales store. Their no-frills, warehouse-style tasting room, is set amidst their barrel storage area and open five days a week, Wednesday through Sunday. Located in the gritty environs of industrial San Leandro, Drake’s offers up to 24 different beers on tap, including all of their regular styles, some on nitro, hard to find seasonals and specialties, and a few of their sought-after barrel-aged beers. They also offer taster trays, growler fills, six-packs, 22 oz. “bombers”, and 5-gallon kegs, to-go.
