Is this a case for Judge Judy?
San Leandro resident Raul Alvarez is a photographer who knows his way around equipment.
He says a leaking coffee cup destroyed his laptop and wants satisfaction.
Does he have a case? Or is he just unlucky?
Here's what happened.
Several days ago Alvarez says he bought a cup of coffee from the 7-11 in the Manor.
He put the coffee in the cupholder of his car and drove a few short blocks to his mother's house.
There he grabbed the cup again, opened up his laptop and went to work.
Only after he had lifted the cup to his lips did he notice the drip that fell onto the keyboard of his laptop.
Before he could react by turning off the machine, the coffee leak had fried the device.
Alvarez says he went back to the store and checked out other cups in the stack. At least two of them had holes in the bottom.
He thinks his problem resulted from a bad batch of cups.
Now he wonders if other Manor residents have had recent, similar coffee drip accidents.
And depending on what he learns, he wonders if he has a legal complaint -- against who he isn't sure.
What do you say? Have you ever experienced something like this? Has he got a case? Or is he just out of luck?
