Everything including the Kitch 'N Synch

Kitch 'N Synch plays Friday night at 7 p.m. at , 135 Parrott Street, San Leandro. Guitarist Betsy Stern shared with Patch that she and "killer harmonica player" Jerry Gee will perform live in a free performance. The duo will play everything from the music of Johnny Cash to Leonard Bernstein along with jazz, swing, blues and 1960's and 1970's oldies. A fun and relaxing way to kick-off your weekend. Wine and Tapas are available for purchase too, of course.

Mother's Day Appreciation Fair at Bayfair Center

Last minute shoppers can find that perfect gift for Mom on Saturday at located at 15555 E. 14th St., San Leandro and enjoy the being held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. In addition to vendors providing activities there will be singers, dancers, poets and food available. Also set to perform at the center this weekend are Fred Anderson, balloon artist who will be at the center on Friday and Big Al Catraz performing magic on Sunday.

 

Start practicing your pirate voice for the Roosevelt School auction

Yo Ho Ho indeed, this year's auction has a and plenty of live and silent auction treasures for every budgetCost of the fundraising event is $30 per person at the door. It takes place at the at 1105 Bancroft Avenue, San Leandro. The doors open at 5 p.m. Delicious food will be served and the school Dad's Club will be tending bar. Come ready to bid on a boat load of auction items and support our local schools.

 

You can get overly dramatic this weekend with multiple theater choices

The San Leandro Players will perform Jane Austen's adapted version of Pride and Prejudice this weekend. Saturday's performance is at 8 p.m. and Sunday's is at 2 p.m. The play is being staged at the San Leandro Museum Auditorium at 320 W. Estudillo Ave. San Leandro which is located next to the historic . General admission is $15. Seniors, students, children under age 12 and enlisted military members will be admitted for $10 when they present identification. Pride and Prejudice explores the upbringing of the privileged class in early 19th century England and includes themes such as manners and morality. Tickets can be ordered on-line here. Once On This Island will be presented at the , 2200 Bancroft Avenue, San Leandro on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. General admission tickets are $10, student and senior tickets are $8 and special reserved seating is $25.  According to Director, Andrea Gorham, "This Caribbean adaptation of the popular fairy tale The Little Mermaid garnered eight Tony nominations for its Broadway run, including Best Musical, Book and Score. In almost non-stop song and dance, the show tells the story of Ti Moune, a peasant girl who rescues and falls in love with Daniel, a wealthy boy from the other side of her island. When Daniel is returned to his people, the fantastical gods who rule the island guide Ti Moune on a quest to test the strength of her love against the powerful forces of prejudice, hatred and death." Hot dogs, Hot rods and Hooters Girls over the border in San Lorenzo

The 11th Annual  Arroyo High Classic and Custom Car and Motorcycle Show happens Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Arroyo High School located at 15701 Lorenzo Avenue. San Lorenzo. A mere $5 donation gets you into the event. Hundreds of classic and custom cars will be on display. Come see muscle cars, hot rods, motorcycles, rat rods, low riders, tricked-out trucks and much more. All proceeds raised by the event go to support high school sports. In addition to all the fabulous cars on display, there will be live music, a barbecue, raffles, trophies and appearance by the "Hooters girls".  You can go to the show's website here for more information or call 510-483-1776.
