Library Offers Persian Dance Workshop June 27

The program, which is free to the general public, will be held on Thursday, June 27 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Lecture Hall.

The Shahrzad Dance Company will offer a 45-minute program that includes several Persian dance demonstrations, audience participation, a lecture and a Q & A session.

The workshop will take place at the Main Library, which is located at 300 Estudillo Avenue in Downtown San Leandro. The program, which is free to the general public, will be held on Thursday, June 27 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Lecture Hall.

The Shahrzad Dance Academy (SDA) is non-profit organization founded by Shahrzad Khorsandi in 1996. The academy is a cultural training ground, using a structured curriculum of traditional Persian movement as a cultural foundation, while providing the space to artistically explore choreography in contemporary Persian dance.

SDA is based in Richmond, California, and provides on-going classes in classical & contemporary Persian dance for children and adults in the Bay Area.
