Their concert will be preceeded by a short evening Shabbat service, led by the synagogue's cantor, Linda Hirschhorn.

According to the concert website, which can be found here, "The program pairs two musical traditions – East European Jewish and Ukrainian – that have existed side by side and interacted for centuries, mirroring the complex relationship between the two peoples that have nurtured them. From lyrical love ballads and songs of flirtation to tales of marital mayhem and epics of separation from home and hearth wrought by conscription and war, Love Songs from a Neighboring Village portrays the many facets of love portrayed in the Jewish and non-Jewish song cultures of Ukraine."
