Families are invited to celebrate Children's Day and Book Day (El dia de los ninos, El dia de los libros) at the San Leandro Main Library April 28 fro 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
There will be special free performances by Chiquay Boom and an appearance by illustrator and author Maya Christina Gonzalez.
The event is a component of the library's Big Read Program, underwritten in part by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
