What: Come listen to the African drums of Samba, Samba at this family-friendly event, part of the summer series, "San Leandro Reads Goes on Safari."

What: This Pulitzer Prize-winning drama stars Elwood, a beloved, if different, man whose best friend is a six-foot-tall pooka rabbit named Harvey. The story gets interesting when Elwood's sister and niece decide to commit him to an asylum.

What: A one-mile fundraising walk to benefit Four Paws Society; petting zoo; pet Best Trick Contest; demonstrations by Alameda County Fire Department Rescue Dog and San Leandro Police Department K9 Unit; low-cost vaccinations, low-cost micro-chipping and more.

What: The San Leandro Historical Society presents a day of crafts and games, Mexican folk dance, a raffle and silent auction, and "unch alfresco" in the courtyard of the historic Casa Peralta.
