Where, When & Who In San Leandro?

Today's triple tease was submitted by unofficial "Where" champion Mike Katz-Lacabe. Can you guess any part of this puzzle?

Saturday after Saturday, Mike Katz-Lacabe rises early and often posts the first correct answer to the "Where in San Leandro?" puzzle.

This week he decided to play a new way, by submitting the picture above, which poses three questions:

  1. Where was it taken;
  2. When was it taken (roughly); and
  3. Who are the folks in the photo.

Mike shared the where and the approximate when with Patch, and offered a few possible IDs for the people in the snapshot.

If you know any of the answers, leave a comment below.

Please enlist the aid of long-time residents who might be able to name names.

Last's week Where puzzle showed quad.

Mike was up at 5:50 am to post the first correct guess!

Carlos, Victor and Jamie also identifed the location.

Pat Lucchesi noted that the quad used to be grass in the 1960s.

"Good old San Leandro High," added Francis Sena. "It's changed a lot in forty years but I can still reconize it."

You can submit where picture puzzles for future weeks to editor Tom Abate whose email address is at the top of the Patch home page.

We have archived "Where in San Leandro" puzzles from past if you'd like to click through them.

My guess is that these are city officials. Is the woman fourth from the left Helen Lawrence? I am tempted to look through Cindy Simons' book for help and clues but I'll be an honest player.

Research is fine. But if these are city officials it is only by accident. This is a church group from the 1950/60s. That's a hint. It's a tough one.

Hooray, Christine. You are right. Sorry to take so long to notice.

I know it's Broadmoore Community Church. And it's in the mid 1950's. I think the man in the front row in the dark suit , third from the left is Reverend Zoppel, not sure of the spelling of the last name. Some of the others look familiar but not sure. My Uncle Cliff Gossett built this church, however I don't see him in this picture.
