Week Ahead: Nutcracker Pinata; Zoo Lights; 'Wonderful Life' at Bal Theatre

  • Thanksgiving Luncheon. Heart-warming San Leandro tradition for adults 50 and older. Great food, live entertainment, friendly company and raffle. Registration open for reservations made at Senior Community Center, Marina Community Center, or online at www.sanleandrorec.org. Fees are $6 for residents and $8 for non-residents. All reservations are non-refundable
Thursday, Nov. 28
  • Thanksgiving Dinner. 11 a.m. St. Raymond's Catholic Church, Dublin. Several churches bring fellowship, joy and good home-cooked food to people alone or in need this holiday season. Families, seniors, singles welcome. 
Friday, Nov. 29
  • Oakland Zoo Lights. Hundreds of thousands of LED lights brighten night sky. Highlights: candy cane lane themed rides area, a nighttime adventure on the Outback Express train, Christmas trees in the Children's Zoo, and a light show that's sure to blow out any bah-hum-bugs. 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.  ZooLights is a separate event and is not included in regular Zoo Admsission. Adults: $8, Children/Seniors $7, Members: $1 off.
Saturday, Nov. 30
  • Nutcracker Piñata - American Tradition Embraced by Culture. San Leandro Performing Arts Center 2250 Bancroft Ave. 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. EBCPCA & Mexico Danza proudly present a one of a kind Holiday spectacle of the Nutcracker with a Mexican Twist full of color & tradition combined with culture. A MUST SEE FAMILY EVENT!
  • Michael D Booker Comedy at the Englander.  A super funny comedy show. If not, you get in Dec 28th show for free.  Starring Cory Robinson and featuring Christopher John, plus special guest.
