Storybook Theme For McConaghy House Tours

The local historic McConaghy House, a Victorian-era home open for weekend tours throughout the holiday season, will be decorated with a storybook theme this year.

Each room of the mansion will be transformed for the holidays, inspired by a different fabled Christmas story.

The house is located nearby at 18701 Hesperian Boulevard, Hayward next to Kennedy Park.

Its holiday tour hours will be held from November 24 through December 23 on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m.

Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students and seniors. Children under age 10 are free, as are members of the Hayward Area Historical Society. Group tours of the home can also be arranged by advance reservation.
