San Leandro Participates in Great California Shakeout

The Great California Shakeout will be happening nationwide on Thursday morning at 10:17 a.m.

The City of San Leandro will be participating in the Great California Shakeout on Thursday morning at 10:17 p.m.

Our participation will consist of employees at City Hall and the Police Department participating in the "drop, cover and hold on" drill that will include millions of people worldwide. Employees will then evacuate to designated assembly areas.

San Leandro Unified School District will also join other schools across the nation in participating in the Great California Shakeout.

During this time, city services in both buildings will be temporarily disrupted. We estimate the disruption to last approximately 20 minutes.

Our police department dispatch center and patrol services will remain fully operational and will not be affected by the drill.
