Marina Park Reopening Celebration Just in Time for San Leandro Relay for Life

Join the City of San Leandro us as we celebrate the reopening of Marina Park on Satuday, June 1, 9 a.m. at the Seagull Picnic Area (North End of Marina Park)

After several months of hard work (and a number of years in planning and design), Marina Park has a new irrigation system and sports three beautifully enhanced group picnic areas.  

The sun shades, wind walls, seat walls and large barbecues are just some of the exciting enhancements at Marina’s three group picnic areas: Seagull, Otter and Mallard.   

“What the community and staff have done by working together to design and support these improvements makes all of us proud to live, work and play in San Leandro”, stated Mayor Stephen Cassidy.

The celebration will include coffee and light refreshments followed by thanks and acknowledgement of the work done by so many people and the community that supports our beautiful parks.

After the reopening celebration, people will be encouraged to stay for the Relay for Life Kick-Off Ceremony to cheer and support the many survivors, walkers and volunteers of San Leandro who are raising money to combat cancer.
