Free Senior Resource Fair on Friday

More than 60 agencies and private vendors expected at Senior Community Center.

Learn about services available to seniors regarding housing, health and wellness, transportation, financial planning, leisure activities and much more.

The free event runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 16, at the Senior Community Center, 13909 E.14th St., San Leandro.

Over 60 agencies will be on hand to provide information and answer questions. The event is open to anyone interested in issues that affect seniors, especially family care givers.

There will raffles and health checks. Bring along used fluorescent lamps, batteries, expired medications and mercury thermometers to recycle at the Fair.

"This is an outstanding opportunity for the seniors in our community to find the resources they need," said Mayor Stephen Cassidy. "It is also a great way for them to visit our new Senior Community Center and learn about all of the new programs and opportunities available in our community."
