Free Curbside Christmas Tree Recycling

Through January 13.

Christmas trees will be picked up curbside in San Leandro  through January 13 by Waste Management of Alameda County, in conjunction with the Oro Loma Sanitary District.

Only clean trees, free of tinsel, flocking, ornaments and tree stands of any sort (plastic, metal or nailed wood) will be accepted. Trees must be cut to no more than 5 foot 6 inches in length. The trees will be recycled.

After January 13, residents may cut their trees to fit into their yard waste cart with the lid closed and the trees will be recycled.

Flocked trees cannot be recycled at all and should be cut to fit in your regular trash cart with the cart's lid closed. 

Green waste in Alameda County is banned in landfills. Waste Management produces compost for organic farming from residential food scraps and green waste in Alameda and Marin counties. To learn more visit here.
