Eden Township to Raise Up to $20 Million to Keep San Leandro Hospital Open

ETHD voted on Wednesday to work collaboratively with Alameda Health System and the Alameda County Health Department to raise up to $20 million to support San Leandro Hospital's second year of operation.

San Leandro Hospital will remain open as an acute care facility after the Eden Township Healthcare District (ETHD) board of directors voted to raise $20 million to keep the hospital operating, according to The Daily Review.

ETHD had been petitioned for large financial support for the San Leandro facility by officials from the county, city and health care agencies, The Daily Review reports.

However, with a 3-1 vote with one abstention, the district on Wednesday is now directed to work collaboratively with Alameda Health System and the Alameda County Health Department to raise up to $20 million to support the second year of operation of San Leandro Hospital, The Daily Review reports.
