Car Seat Checkup and Children’s Safety Fair This Saturday

In celebration of National Child Passenger Safety Week, the Children’s Hospital & Research Center Oakland Kohl’s Injury Prevention Program will be hosting a free Car Seat Checkup and Children Safety’s Fair on Saturday, Sept. 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Creekside Plaza parking lot located at 1000 San Leandro Boulevard, San Leandro.

The safety fair will feature a fire truck, paramedics with their rig, face painting, balloon twisting, costumed character and performances by Disney Jr.’s Rockin’ Road Crew. Kohl’s Cares will also present a check for $133,124 to Children’s Hospital and Research Center Oakland.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, car collisions are the leading killer of children ages 1 to 12 years old in the United States.
