Book Sale, Easter Egg Hunts April 7

Enjoy spring events on Saturday

 

Saturday, April 7 offers several activities close to home you won't want to miss, so put them on your calendar.

Spring Book Sale at the San Leandro Library

A Spring Book Sale will be held at 9 a.m. at the San Leandro Main Library, 300 Estudillo Avenue.  

The event is sponsored by the Friends of the San Leandro Library.

Friends of the Library Members will be admitted from 9 to 11 a.m. for first choice of the books on sale. The general public is admitted from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Over 10,000 books will be on sale at bargain prices.

You can register or renew your membership in Friends of the Library at the door on the day of the sale or pick up an application to join at the main library. Membership is $10 for an individual and $15 for a family.

Annual Egg Hunt at Marina Park

An annual egg hunt for children age 10 and under will be held April 7 at 10 a.m. at in San Leandro. It is located at 13801 Monarch Bay Dr. San Leandro.

Children are invited to bring their baskets to collect eggs.

Egg hunters will be divided by appropriate age. Children must have parental supervision to participate.

This event is being underwritten by a donation from the San Leandro Optimist Club.

This event will be held even in the event of rain.

Egg Hunt and Bonnet Parade at Kennedy Park

The 67th Annual Egg Hunt and Bonnet Parade will be held at Kennedy Park . Kennedy Park is located a short drive from San Leandro at 19501 Hesperian Blvd. in Hayward.

The event is sponsored by the Hayward Area Recreation and Park
District’s Youth Program. Registration starts at 9 a.m. (The event will take place rain or shine.) Admission is free.

 A Bonnet Parade, led by the Easter Bunny, starts at 9:30 a.m. You must be age 6 and under to participate in the Bonnet Parade and all bonnets must be homemade and be worn by the participants during the parade to qualify. The  bonnets will be judged in three categories - the prettiest, most unusual and most colorful.

The Egg Hunt commences promptly at 10 a.m. There will be four egg hunt age categories; one to two, three to four, five to six and seven to nine year olds.
