RAKING in Reno!

The Rakers of San Leandro brought home their fourth championship win this past weekend after playing in the Muckdogs Fourth of July Tournament in Reno.  They competed with 24 teams from all over California and Nevada including some local teams.  The Rakers were seeded number one after playing six games in four days and had a record of 5-1 going into the championship game.

Kevin Nava started the championship game and went six strong innings giving up just 2 runs.  Marcus Marquez closed out the game to pitch the 7th, and shut down their opponent going 1, 2, 3.  The Rakers scored four in the 1st inning, one in the 2nd inning, four in the 4th inning and two in the 5th inning.  Every player contributed to the 13 hits, making it a true team effort. The final score was 11-2.
