Tickets for San Leandro's new citywide teen talent show, San Leandro's Got Talent, are on sale now! Teens ages 13 to 18 will compete for prizes, and the audience, along with a local celebrity judging panel, will choose the winners.
Don't miss an opportunity to see the best of local teen talent. San Leandro's Got Talent will take place in the Lecture Hall at the San Leandro Main Library on February 8, 2013. Doors open at 6 pm. Show starts at 7 pm. Light refreshments will be sold during intermission and there will be a raffle for great prizes.
The show is fortunate to have a great panel of local celebrity judges. Natali Del Conte Morrie is a contributor to CNBC who grew up in San Leandro. Might Joe Kim, a rapper, went to school in San Leandro. San Leandro-based author C.J. Omololu and City Council member Diana Souza will round out the panel.
San Leandro's Got Talent is a collaboration of the San Leandro Public Library's Teen Advisory Group (TAG) and the Youth Advisory Commission (YAC). TAG and YAC are joining together to offer this fun new event for the community while raising money for teen programs. Proceeds from ticket sales and sponsorships will be used for teen programs at the library as well as YAC's mini-grant program for youth-serving organizations.
Tickets can be purchased at the San Leandro Main Library (300 Estudillo Avenue) and the Recreation and Human Servcies Department South Offices (835 East 14th Street). Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for youth, 17 and under.
This event would not be possible without some amazing sponsors. Special thanks to the Friends of the San Leandro Library, Fremont Bank, Paramedics Plus, The T-Shirt Factory, the Arts Council of San Leandro, the Alameda County Firefighters Association Local 55, and the Sanchez Family for supporting teen programs in the city.
