Trout Are Jumping At Lake Chabot

Fish report says trout are frisky, catfish and bass slowing down.

Daniel Jimenez of San Leandro caught a 5.64 lb trout using green Powerbait eggs at Catfish Landing, and Daniel Simenez of San Lorenzo caught a 7.25 pound whopper at the same location and with the same bait, according to a recent report from NorCalFishing.com.

The report says trout fishing is improving, both from boats and shore.

But cold waters are making bass harder to snag. And while the lake is stocked with catfish they may be tricky to land until the water warms.

The 2012 fishing licenses are available at the marina. Bring in a current fishing license or driver's license as identification.

Aren't we lucky to live in such a great place, with recreational opportunities like this so close to home!
